Victoria (“Tori”) Dietel-Bargender is an Associate with Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown, LLP in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Tori is admitted to practice in Wisconsin.
Tori graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a double major in Political Science and Communication Studies with an emphasis in Advocacy and Criticism. While attending UWL, Tori was a resident assistant and served in student government as both a Student Association Senator and the Student Association Public Relations Director. During undergrad, Tori was also an intern at the La Crosse County Public Defender’s Office.
Prior to coming to Milwaukee to attend Marquette University Law School, Tori worked at a small civil litigation firm in Madison, Wisconsin.
In law school, Tori volunteered with several clinics through Marquette’s Office of Public Service. Tori provided legal services with the assistance of licensed attorneys with the Veteran’s Services Clinic, the Rural Communities Clinic, and the Wills for Heroes program. Tori has been inducted into the Posner Exchange & Honor Society for dedicating 50 or more hours of pro-bono legal services while in law school. Tori was also selected to be a Public Interest Law Society Summer Fellow where she worked her rising 2L summer with the West Allis City Attorney’s Office.
While in law school, Tori was employed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office as a traffic law clerk where she drafted complaints and appeared for the State in Out of Custody Court. Tori also completed two internships while in law school. She spent a semester with the Milwaukee County Corporation Council and the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
During her time at Marquette University, Tori also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Marquette Benefits and Social Welfare Law Review (MBSWLR). Marquette Benefits & Social Welfare Law Review publishes articles devoted to international and domestic civil rights and social justice perspectives on employee benefits, disability, elder, health, poverty, and social insurance law. Since 2002 MBSWLR has been produced by Marquette University law students who work closely with experts in the field to bring to publication a readable compendium of current issues and complex policy problems at the intersection of benefits law and social justice.
In her free time, Tori enjoys attending Milwaukee sporting events with her husband and friends. She also likes to find new coffee shops and try their cold brew as well as teach herself a new sewing project.
