Steve McGaver has been with GRGB for more than a decade, starting out as a messenger and taking on almost every role in the firm.  A 2006 graduate of Marquette University Law School (cum laude), he now serves as associate attorney.  As the son of a retired Milwaukee Police Officer he brings to the firm a level-headed and practical approach to problem solving that serves his clients well.

His practice areas include a diverse mix of litigation cases including civil, criminal, employment law and white collar defense.  His passion for practicing law is born out of a strong desire to serve people in his hometown community.  “I care about Milwaukee.  It is my home and I want to leave my mark here.  I want to help people and make it a better place,” Steve states.

His skill and drive is not only apparent to his clients, it has also caught the attention of his law colleagues.   Steve was designated as an “Up and Coming Lawyer” by the Wisconsin Law Journal in 2010.   He is also recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, an honor bestowed on only 2.5 percent of attorneys in Wisconsin.

Steve also enjoys cooking, boating, fishing, waterskiing and spending time with his wife.  When he is not defending his clients, you might find Steve “defending the crease” in an intense game of ice hockey.  A former collegiate walk-on, he tends goal several nights of the week for numerous area teams.
